Waves in OC

Trestle Beach

Trestle Beach in Southern San Clemente is home to one of the best surf spots in SoCal. With the high-intensity waves, Trestles attracts many professional and experienced surfers. Lower Trestles holds a professional surfing contest every year along with NSSA (National Scholastic Surfing Association) Nationals. We recommend Trestles if you’re an experienced surfer or would simply like to observe the infamous California Surfers.

Laguna Beach, Brooks Street

Brooks Beach is at the end of Brooks Street in Laguna Beach. Please note this is not a spot for beginners. The best of the best surfers flock to this location when the waves are right. Every summer since 1955, Brooks Beach has held the world’s longest running surf competition known as The Brooks Street Classic. Snag a seat at the top of the staircase where you can enjoy the view and watch the surfers.

Family Surfing

Doheny Beach

Only 10 minutes from Laguna Beach, Doheny Beach is iconic for being the best place to learn how to surf in California. The tame waters and gentle waves make this it an ideal spot for beginners.

Seal Beach

Seal Beach lies between the cities of Long Beach and Huntington Beach. This beach offers a variety of swells and is a great spot for both beginners and expert surfers. The Sand Bars in the San Gabriel River have smaller waves and slower breaks, making it a go-to spot for long boarders and beginners. Book a private surf lesson for yourself and your family.

Regardless of your surf level, you are guaranteed to have a swell time.

After your epic surf sesh, unwind at Capistrano Surfside Inn, featuring breezy accommodations just steps from the sand.
