I hesitate to post a positive review because part of me wants it to stay a hidden gem, but we could not be more satisfied with our stay at Surfside Inn. The building is older and the decor is a little dated, but all the surfaces and linens were very clean. We were lucky enough to get a 3rd floor balcony room overlooking the ocean, so it was nothing but blissful peace (until the Surfliner rolled through, but we found it to be a charming part of the territory). The advantage of the location is obvious, but the staff's kindness and the cleanliness of the room put this place over the top. Grabbing some provided beach loungers and having coffee with my toes in the morning surf was an absolute highlight. As long as the prices stay friendly, we'd love to come back again and again and again.

Hard surfaces feel cleaner, so replacing the carpet in the bedroom with a hard surface and a large rug would be an upgrade. Very happy with the room as-is, but it did cross my mind.
Location, location, location. Perfectly situated between Dana Point, SJC, and San Clemente. Could not be happier with the convenience of always being close by.

The shower/tub was a little strange, but it still worked. For older people, it might have been a little difficult for them, having to step into the shower/tub. The rug in the family room was not flat and we could see that an older person could trip, and hurt themselves. We were in room 108.
We had ocean view, the bed and pillows, were excellent. Had a really good night sleep and you couldn't even hear the traffic. The staff was fantastic, and very nice.

Provide food! Even if it's a Continental breakfast! It would make a huge difference. We just wanted to relax enjoy muffins, toast with coffee every morning. 🌅

Maybe more variety of cookware only had one cooking pan plenty of pots, needed a cookie baking pan, and needed a cutting board and other then the Elevator being out of order the last day of checkout everything was great Thank you
Loved the location very peaceful, friendly staff and very convenient and easy to access to the beach

Can't really think of anything, unless you can warm up the Pacific Ocean a little, ha-ha! Loved all the info provided in the Monday morning meeting regarding activities at the resort, things to do in the area, restaurant listings, etc.
